The IEEE-519 2022 edition replaces the 2014 edition from December 2022.<br \/>The IEEE 519 2022 edition includes two important changes:<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Installations with mixed loads and Inverter Based Resources\/Distributed Energy Resources<br \/>\u2022 Even current harmonics limits<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c5c79d0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-solaksectiontitle\" data-id=\"c5c79d0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;ekit_we_effect_on&quot;:&quot;none&quot;}\" data-widget_type=\"solaksectiontitle.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"title-area text-left\">\r\n\t\t\t<span class=\"sub-title\">Resources\/Distributed Energy<\/span><h4 class=\"sec-title\">New guidelines for installations with mixed loads and Inverter Based <\/h4>\t\t<\/div>\r\n\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-86367ac elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"86367ac\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;ekit_we_effect_on&quot;:&quot;none&quot;}\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The 2022 edition instructs you whether to follow the IEEE-519 compliance criteria or different standards, as follows:<\/p><ol><li style=\"text-align: justify;\">IEEE-519 current limits at the point of common coupling (PCC) should be applied if the installation has an Inverted Based Resources (IBRs) or Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), in addition to the loads, and the combined site rated generation is lower than 10% of the annual average load demand.<\/li><li style=\"text-align: justify;\">IEEE 1547 or IEEE 2800 (if applicable) should be applied at the point of common coupling (PCC) should be applied if the installation has an IBRs or DERs, in addition to the loads, and the combined site rated generation is higher than 10% of the annual average load demand.<\/li><li style=\"text-align: justify;\">If the installation does not have an IBR or DER, IEEE-519 current limits should be applied at the PCC.<\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-331bc77 elementor-widget elementor-widget-solaksectiontitle\" data-id=\"331bc77\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;ekit_we_effect_on&quot;:&quot;none&quot;}\" data-widget_type=\"solaksectiontitle.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"title-area text-left\">\r\n\t\t\t<span class=\"sub-title\">IEEE-519 2022 \u2013<\/span><h4 class=\"sec-title\"> Even current harmonics limits\n<\/h4>\t\t<\/div>\r\n\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8a911ee elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8a911ee\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;ekit_we_effect_on&quot;:&quot;none&quot;}\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The IEEE-519 defines the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.elspec-ltd.com\/ieee-519-2014-standard-for-harmonics#currentDistortionLimits\">\u00a0limits of current distortion<\/a>\u00a0per harmonic (in percentages of maximum demand load current) and TDD. The harmonics are divided to 5 groups (3rd \u2013 10th, 11th \u2013 16th, 17th \u2013 22nd, 23rd \u2013 34th and 35th \u2013 50th), with different limits to each group of harmonics per rated voltage and ISc\/IL ratio.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the 2014 edition, all the even current harmonics were limited to 25% of their odd counterparts in their respective harmonic group. The 2022 edition is significantly different since only the even harmonics equal or below the 6th harmonic are limited, and these harmonics are limited only to 50% of their odd counterparts in the same harmonic group.
